Frozen Plains
When it just snowed.

Dream Road
If it weren't freezing and super slippery, this would be a nice bit of road to drive in a sports car.

Towers
A mix of green and amber in the dead of winter.

Evergreen
Winter is no problem.

Autumn Color
The faded still clinging on.

Side View
Bringing a read-wheel drive sports car to Yosemite in the middle winter. What can possibly go wrong.

Snow Tarmac
Like a winter rally stage.

Opening Salvo
The first look at Yosemite Valley as you drive in towards it.

On the Way to Your Home
On the road heading down to the valley.

Tunnel View
The famous Yosemite Tunnel. On the other side is a vista point for the signature "tunnel view" of the valley.

Cliffs
These snow-covered cliffs are astonishingly beautiful.

Majesty
What John Muir fell in love with.

Follow
The snowy cliffs hiding the early morning sun.

Angel Falls
Bridalveil Falls, the first of many waterfalls to greet Yosemite visitors. This is the view of the falls from the dedicated parking lot.

Up Above
A 12mm lens is so handy for shots like this.

Wonderland
Winter has come.

The Captain
The imposing and defining El Capitan rock face.

The Logo
One never ceases to be in awe of how enormous the El Capitan rock face is.

Secret Place
The winter colors in Yosemite are a treat for the eyes. The just-snowed air is also some of the freshest I've ever breathed.

Rally Stage
The ring road circling around Yosemite Valley looks perfect for a winter rally stage.

Reflect
Not quite cold enough to be frozen.

Tranquil
Down by the valley river looking at the famous Yosemite Falls.

Solitude
It was just me and my thoughts.

In Between
Nature here does a fantastic job framing the mountain cliffs in the background.

Mirror
Smooth as glass.

Say Ah
Notice the two people in the foreground and compare their size with the enormity of the trees and the mountain cliffs. Nature is grand.

Walkway
I wonder how all this looks come spring time.

Breakthrough
Yosemite Falls in the background feeds into this river that runs through the valley, named Merced River.

Green Creek
One of Merced River's many tributaries.

Downhill
Rapid water as it exits Yosemite Falls and flows downward towards Merced River in the valley.

Yosemite Falls
Lower Yosemite Falls, probably the most visited waterfall in the entire park. A simple one-mile hike from the valley ring road will get you here. The flow is slightly muted during the winter but when the snow melts come spring time the volume of water can be fierce.

Half
A look at the famous Half Dome rock-formation from the valley floor.

Variations
A cross-section of what winter in Yosemite has to offer.
